Schunk Chuck Jaws and Workholding Solutions Help You Reduce Set-Up Times and Produce More Product
A world leader in clamping technology and gripping systems from the smallest parallel gripper to the largest chuck jaw program, SCHUNK Intec Inc. is a multinational manufacturing company, based principally in Germany and in the United States.
Friedrich Schunk launched his "mechanical workshop" in 1945 in a garage in Lauffen/ Neckar, Germany. His reputation as a tinkerer and a problem-solver served him well—among his first large orders were brake drums and fly wheels for the NSU Prince 4 and precision parts for the Porsche-model 356. As it grew, the enterprise increasingly shifted its core competence to the development, manufacturing and improvement of production methods. In 1966, SCHUNK created its first chuck jaws for lathe chucks and ventured into manufacturing workpiece clamping. In 1978, SCHUNK introduced hydraulic toolholding systems, and in 1988 stationary workholding solutions. In 1992, in response to expanding exports to North America, SCHUNK formed its North American subsidiary, based in Raleigh, North Carolina. Today, SCHUNK operates worldwide in more than 50 countries.
More than two million of its precision toolholders, one million of its gripping modules, and 100,000 lathe chucks and stationary workholding systems are currently used in manufacturing around the globe. SCHUNK offers more than 1,200 types of chuck jaws, making it the world’s largest standardized chuck jaw program. SCHUNK develops chuck jaws for specialized applications, steady rests for maximum clamping force per roller, mechanical toolholders, grippers with shank interface, and much more—all designed and engineered to speed processes and generate efficiencies.
The company philosophy holds that machines make more products when parts are changed faster, and machines that run more product deliver more profit. Tool-Krib Supply is pleased to offer a complete line of SCHUNK Intec chuck jaws and workholding solutions for any industry that uses metals in its manufacturing, from general machining to aerospace and defense, medical, energy, automotive, and general engineering.
